All the kids, Tusonge board members and even Fredrick's mom pitched in to build this amazing home.   The opening of the new house was a celebration for the Tusonge family and the entire community.  View our photos below of our home's building progress and our ribbon cutting celebration.  Click a photo to view the slideshow.

Family Home for Kids

"I have opened my home to become "our home" for my family, the Tusonge children and our friends from the U.S. when they are able to visit."

Starting with a small rental home in 2014, Fredrick Otukuru and his wife Trudy welcomed the initial 20 choir kids into their home.

“I wanted our home to be open to children whose own home life was unbearable for them and who needed a safe place to stay.  There is so much sadness, poverty, hopelessness and hunger in many of their homes, so our home became their refuge.

“We quickly outgrew the house, so we set a goal of building a larger family home in a safer neighborhood.  Through wonderful donations we built a beautiful new home that we moved into in 2019.  Our open house was celebrated by a ribbon cutting with more than 100 people from our church and community plus some of our board members from the U.S. in attendance.  What a blessing!!”
