TUSONGE’S NEXT ADVENTURE AWAITS
HELP BUILD OUR STUDENT'S BUSINESSES
Our Tusonge graduates will create exciting businesses in the new Community Center, where they will also teach and mentor poor youngsters in the community. See what they have planned and learn how you can help.​
FRED’S RESTAURANT & CULINARY CENTER – This will be a full-service restaurant plus a space where Fred will teach impoverished youth and adults about proper nutrition, safe food preparation and other related skills. Meet Fred. ​
MARY’S FASHION, DESIGN & SEWING CENTER – In this sewing center, Mary and future skilled graduate students will make and sell a variety of garments and accessories, while also teaching these skills to area youth and adults. Hear Mary's Story. ​
TRAVEL, TOURISM AND ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER – Several Tusonge graduates are operating a tourism business that takes Western travelers on safaris and other treks. Their office will be located in the community center where they can also teach interested youngsters the skills of this popular trade. ​
OLIVIA’S HEALTH AND WATER SANITATION CLINIC – After finishing nursing school, Olivia and other Tusonge nursing graduates will operate a basic health clinic for area residents while also distributing water purifiers and sanitation kits that combat water borne diseases. Meet Olivia. ​
KIZZA’S HAIR AND BEAUTY SHOP – Kizza graduated from Tusonge and is currently working in this field. She would like to set up her business in the Center where she can also teach the basics of hair and beauty to area students and adults.
TUSONGE COMPUTER CENTER – Uganda has a growing need for people with computer skills. Several Tusonge students are trained in computer aided design, music production, graphics and media communications. They will run their computer-based businesses while teaching others in the neighborhood.
RECREATION AND READING CENTER – The Tusonge Community Center will be a safe place for young people to gather. We will have sports equipment, games, books and other materials to engage, educate and encourage youth to spend time at the center.​
FOOD AND CLOTHING BANK – We anticipate providing no cost meals every day to impoverished neighborhood kids, comprised primarily of rice, beans, mashed cassava root and other native foods. We will also maintain a supply of hygiene products, clothing and shoes.​
FAITH AND GUIDANCE CENTER – Our Tusonge students have been raised with a deep Christian faith. One, Emmanuel, has served as student minister at their boarding school. Together they will conduct weekly church services and provide faith-centered guidance to children and neighbors in need. ​
LIVING QUARTERS – Tusonge will provide low cost, studio housing for Tusonge graduates who may need it as they develop their businesses. ​

Our next adventure is to build a Community Center where Tusonge graduates can start businesses and become mentors for impoverished Ugandan youth and families.. This was a dream of our co-founder Becky Berg who sadly passed away in 2024. Our students share her vision and are eager to build a place that empowers both themselves and others.​
